To integrate the couches in with the rest of the house, I made a eclectic set of  pillow covers.

I sewed these up pretty quick, all in all, I am quite pleased with them. The fabric was from my stash, so “free to me”, and I just winged the pattern.  Photos are taken by Colton Allen.

I’m still working, but I get to go home “early” (compared to when I’m in school), which means fun afternoons with Miss Etta!

This weekend we finally finished her play tent/teepee.  I got the pattern from here, with some slight alterations. The fabric is from my favorite store IKEA (Thanks Chris!).

As you can see she is thoroughly enjoying it!

While we are embracing this break from school, I am also nervously waiting for June 1st to roll around. What happens June 1st? Well, that’s when I hear back from the Nursing Schools I applied to for Fall 2012 Admission! So cross your fingers for me, while we… wait..wait..wait…

I’m sure the time will fly by, but often it feels sooooo sssssllllowwwwwwwww. Luckily I will be plenty busy with two courses next term (Microbiology and Ananatomy & Physiology II), so my blog posts will be sparse and infrequent at best (your official warning)!

I personalized a bunch of these little guys for a new neighbor baby, and thought you might enjoy them too! The pictures could have been better…. but you get the idea!

I hit up my stash of Etta baby clothes for the onesies, and the fabric scrap pile for the cute fabric. The mushroom and tree patch fabric is from Heidi Kenney’s design available on spoonflower or maybe still in her etsy store.

Here I am modeling it, before it got wrapped up and hand delivered with a birthday song!

The reversible apron pattern is from Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing.

This is the second time I’ve attempted the pattern, and I made some slight changes (wider waist straps and a different type of straps, I also got rid of the gather at the neck straps).

Pretty cool eh? This guy ended up in my sister-in-law’s stocking!

I varied it a bit from the actual pattern, instead of two squares crocheted together, I just felted one square (the first attempt to felt two together came out a bit thicker than I wanted).

We had a wild and crazy fun holiday around here! I crafted up a small storm after my triumphant finish to the Anatomy and Physiology course I was taking at my local community college. The most exciting fun of the craft storm was learning a new jewelry skill, metal stamping!

I made 3 necklaces with hand stamped pendents for my family and friends. However I managed to wrap everything and give it away without a single photo to document.

Last night I made this little something to dangle around my neck. The wedding ring has been around my neck for some time (my finger shrunk and I can now shake my ring off at will if wearing it),  I think it looks great accompanied by a little Etta pendent and crystal.

So.

What intrigued me in those pages?

Some fabulously felt butterfly wings!

After many hours of shopping, cutting, sewing and finally stuffing. The wings were made!

Etta was a caterpillar, so we made a nice pair!

She had the cutest little caterpillar legs & tail (although, I’m not sure caterpillar’s have tails, but it was CUTE.

Finally, no house is complete without a puking pumpkin!

A giant shout out to our master carver(s) for their work with these awesome pumpkins and apples (the shrunken heads)! As always, big  thanks to my hubby for his awesome camera work and willingness to take pictures for me to share!

One of the very last trick or treaters waved her fairy wand and graced our home with the title of spookiest and best decorated house in the neighborhood! A honor we gratefully accepted!

The fabric is from Ikea, and I think the total was around $14.00 for two yards, I just pressed the edges and sewed it up!
