The Girls

We were recently featured on Colton’s blog at www. P67shooter.com !

We took a nice long photo walk in Ashland’s Lithia Park a few weekends past! Etta chased ducks, we paused for multiple pictures and played in the park! The picture above is us on one of Lithia Park’s many bridges!

Paint!

Monday, November 16th, 2009

When we found out we were pregnant people wanted to know a couple things. 1) Sex 2)When we were due 3)What color were we going to paint the nursery?

We didn’t know the answer to 1, Election Day was 2, and PAINT? Who paints a nursery these days? Let alone, pick out the colors in advance, a baby can’t even see like us grown ups for weeks…. We laughed at 3 the most(even more so, cause it made it to the top 3!).

Now, fast forward, a year or so later, and the kid is finaly getting her own room. And paint!? Why yes, we suddenly do care, it’s amazing what a little time can do. She’s gonna have her own room (My crafty bits and I have been moved to the garage), she’s gonna need some color!

Time was spent in the paint store stealing samples,  then we had some discussions about color,  finally I snuck back to the paint store and bought my three favorites (sorry papa)!

Aquarian Sky (light blue).

Cactus Dahlia (sour pink).

Sea King (tealy blue).

I could tell you how I feel about paint names and their absurdity, but I’ll save it for later.

Our “map” to paint, the boys (my husband and his brother) figured out the ratio’s, borrowed a giant ruler (taller than me), and drew the painting lines on the walls  for me to follow up with tape & actual paint!

Pre-Paint, the room is preped!

A little thrifting

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

When Halloween’s over, Christmas begins, this weekend our local Goodwill Thrift Stores host their annual  Holiday Extravaganza. Each store own day special day to put out all their holiday goods, and the thrifters just go crazy!

Here’s what I picked up!

I just can resist 1)pink ornaments 2) young martha books and 3)gnomes/elfs/whatever those two cuties are!

I’ve also been keeping a look out for a little chair for our babe, today I hit the jackpot! A chair that’s also a  stepladder, made of wood  and  ORANGE!

The sweet lady who sold us the stool, also had a sister named Etta! So, we’ll just chalk it up to fate.

Trick or Treat

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Etta’s (Eore) first Halloween Haunting! We walked all the way around the block tricking & being treated by our ghostly neighbor’s.

A bit timid at first, but she caught on!

Harvest Festival Time!

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

I’ve just recovered from my battle with the flu (don’t know if it was the H1N1 or not, although I did get my flu shot over a month ago, and apparently that’s the only thing going around here…), and am happy to have energy again!

I HATE BEING SICK, as do all I assume.

So, last night we set up the dining room table as our Birthday Invitation Center! Etta munched on some “Organic O’s” and played with my old cell phone, while we got to work!

For the front, we cut out some #1’s and are printing some keepsake photo’s of the sweetie! You’ll just have to wait for that in the mail!

To make up for my three days of bed rest & fever spells, we hit the Harvest Fair in style this afternoon!

I think Etta wanted to take home ALL the pumpkins, but we only made it home with one.

Road Trip Phase 1- Yosemite

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

This morning (actually earlier this week) we left Yosemite National Park, it was a breathtaking visit. My jaw literally dropped as we drove into the park! Two days of fun, friends and hiking (with babies). This was the view as we drove out of the valley this morning.

At Last!

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Vacation! At last. I’m always amazed at how much work it takes to get our small family away! Not to mention the extra work at our real jobs, in order to be gone. There’s so much packing, gardening, cleaning and prep to do, but it’s all worth it!

We are now on the eve of our 2009 summer vacation (and yes, it’s almost fall, but we tend to take late in the summer trips (not as hot & less kids out once school starts)). So, tomorrow we’re off….

A California road trip. Stops will include, Great Grandma’s House, Yosemite National Park, Grandma’s House, San Diego Attractions(zoo!), Great Aunt’s & Uncle’s & oh so much more!

See ya in a week!

P.S. Birthday was FABULOUS! Lots of family, food & FUN! Below are some photo highlights of the action packed day!

Three kinds of cake (2 versions of flourless chocolate(recipe testing was in progress), and one delicious carrot cake) and 6 rousing rounds of Happy Birthday! With that kind of kick off,  I think it will be hard not to have a great year!

IPHONE!

So tomorrow is 9.9.9, otherwise known as my BIRTHDAY!

My (a little early) present from my partner was a beautiful, majestic, glittery black, beautiful IPHONE! It’s an amazing piece of machinery… Can you tell I’m in love with it? Well I am.

Wishing all a happy 999…..

Here’s a little of what we did this past Labor Day Weekend!
